Why is Re-Orientation needed?
New students are normally nervous, excited, and even eager when they come to the New Student Orientation. By the end of orientation most of them walk away with a general understanding of program requirements, the services available to them, who the faculty are, and they begin their student journey with a positive outlook. Yet, survey results show that, by the time they finish coursework, many of them linger, find themselves disoriented, "life" happens, and getting through the final milestones becomes a challenge.
Why should I participate?
The goal of this event is to provide students with strategies for successfully completing the next phases of their graduate studies after coursework (quals, proposal, and dissertation) and to help them create a plan for their career beyond CGU.
