The Writing Center offers several courses to help students improve their writing and presenting skills. These courses are offered P/NP, do not count toward your degree, and are offered at a discounted rate.

The Graduate Writing Course is open to all students, international and American, and prepares you for success in PhD level courses. The Graduate Writing Course leads you in a semester long research paper or project integrating the critical skills for research, information management, writing, and presenting in your own discipline. The course guides you through topic analysis, creating annotated bibliographies, positioning a thesis in relation to research in the field, using research databases and working with library subject specialists, managing sources and using citation management software, documentation styles, developing a sustained argument, planning and developing a typical research paper, revision strategies, as well as formal presentation skills.
Languages for Graduate Study (LANG) 101 - $1,474
These courses are specifically designed to help students pass language exams that are administrated by the schools and departments within CGU, but any student may take the courses. These courses are only offered during the summer, and do not count toward degree units.
